THE PINK KILLER

Viviamo in un periodo di cambiamento, cambiamento rapido che non lascia speranza al passato di poter tornare. I computer sono sempre più presenti nella nostra vita e aumentano la loro potenza di calcolo ogni giorno sempre di più.

Sembra una frase degli anni novanta, ma se ci pensate bene, solo ora siamo arrivati ad un bivio storico, uno di que punti in cui tutto può cambiare e per sempre.

Si sente sempre più spesso parlare di AI, intelligenza artificiale, e di come questa potrà cambiare il mondo, in bene e in male. Sono già stati fatti numerosi film a riguardo, come per esempio: LEI, EX MACHINA, etc. e nei vari racconti il finale è quasi sempre lo stesso, le “macchine” non saranno al nostro servizio. Nella situazione positiva le AI vivranno una vita propria separata dalla nostra, nella situazione negativa invece le AI ci tratteranno da essere inferiori, al pari di come noi trattiamo gli scarafaggi.

Senza valutare tutte le possibili sfumature di questo incerto futuro, quello che succede a me come artista è di essere impregnato nel profondo da sentimenti contrastanti e di far venire fuori il sentimento dominamente, per questo motivo ho realizzato questo servizio di beauty, pensado a come potrebbe essere il mio primo impatto con una AI e tentando di immaginare il mio futuro dialogo con essa.

La mia idea è quella di un dialogo con un essere, e dico essere in quanto queste AI saranno pensanti e quindi COGITANT ERGO SUNT, che può decidere il tuo futuro in un battito di ciglia, ma allo stesso tempo si interfaccia con noi per scoprire cosa ci rende così diversi da lei e umani. In pratica il dialogo che si potrebbe avere con una pantera che sta decidendo se mangiarci oppure non interessarsi a noi. Esternamente dolce e sensuale e all’interno una fredda calcolatrice, una PINK KILLER.

THE PINK KILLER

It sounds like a phrase from the nineties, but if you think about it, only now have we reached a historical crossroads, one of those points where everything can change and forever.

We hear more and more often about AI, artificial intelligence, and how this can change the world, for better or for worse. Numerous films have already been made about it, such as: LEI, EX MACHINA, etc. and in the various stories the ending is almost always the same, the “machines” will not be at our service. In the positive situation the AIs will live a life of their own separate from ours, in the negative situation the AIs will treat us from being inferior, just as we treat cockroaches.

Without evaluating all the possible nuances of this uncertain future, what happens to me as an artist is to be deeply imbued with conflicting feelings and to bring out the feeling dominantly, for this reason I made this beauty service, thinking about how it could being my first impact with an AI and trying to imagine my future dialogue with it.

My idea is that of a dialogue with a being, and I say to be as these AI will be thinking and therefore “COGITANT ERGO SUNT”, who can decide your future in the blink of an eye, but at the same time interfaces with us to find out what it makes us so different from her and human. In practice, the dialogue that you could have with a panther who is deciding whether to eat us or not be interested in us. Sweet and sensual on the outside and a cool calculator on the inside, a PINK KILLER.
